A New Way of Life: Susan Burton is a black woman who experienced incarceration multiple times. When she left prison the last time, she was finally offered treatment for substance abuse, and her life turned around. She purchased a home and transformed it into A New Way of Life--a program to help other women leaving prison. She provides a safe, drug-free space where they can rebuild their lives despite enormous challenges.
